Michael Geldenhuys

  • My name is Michael
  • I’m from South Africa
  • This is my first year on staff at Falling Creek
  • I’m teaching outdoor skills and climbing wall
  • I am a competitive Power Lifter, avid adventurer, loves the outdoor and life. I am one of the youngest Springbok Scouts and only one of a few people that achieved 2 Bushman thongs in Scouts. I have just finished being a river guide on the Orange River.
  • Early bird or night owl? Night owl
  • If I had my own late night talk show, my first guest would be Ronnie Coleman, he has inspired thousands of people to join the gym and get active, his positive outlook in life is something many people can be inspired by, as well as his determination even after needing surgery and being told he would never be able to walk again he kept training and kept a smile on his face, he can now walk all be it with crutches. His character is truly inspiring and his drive is something that has personally affected me to try be the best I can be whether in the gym or outside.
  • I would have to say Christmas is my favorite holiday as it is when I get to spend the most time with my family, and all the food is also a pretty nice bonus.
  • If I could live anywhere in the world for a year, I would want to live in Norway, as it is where my family originally came from. I love the culture, as well as the cold weather, to be able to live in a forest in the snowy mountains for a year would be a dream come true.
  • My favorite way to get in some exercise is to cycle to the gym and lift weights.
  • Fun Fact: My favorite form of camping in hammock camping in the rain.
  • I would have to say I look most forward to learning about all the different cultures.
