Travel to Tennessee for a Night in Nashville.

Falling Creek Camp Movies and Reunion hosted by the McKee’s Family in Nashville on 10-16-12

Yates continued his travels north to Nashville, where Kate and Todd McKee hosted the Falling Creek Camp Movies and Reunion. Their beautiful home was a perfect setting for the large group of both returning and new families to come and watch the new camp movie. Their son Mason will return to camp for his 4th summer.

As I regularly say to the families, the boys initially come to camp because they want to experience all of the fun activities, but they return to camp year after year because of the friendships, and especially the outstanding staff.

There were four top Falling Creek camp staff members who took time out of their busy schedules to come and say hello to campers and parents. Andrew Smith, who is studying at the Vanderbilt Pediatric Hospital to become a nurse practitioner, stopped by for the show. This is the second show he’s attended this year as he made an appearance in Atlanta after he was close to town, having taken a group from Nashville paddling on a local river. Andrew, who has been at FCC for four summers now, is on the paddling staff at camp and is also a HUCK Expedition instructor.

Thomas Dooley, a senior Spanish major at nearby Belmont University and super energetic backpacking instructor at FCC, came over and was joined by Harrison Kilgore, a recent graduate from the University of Kentucky. Harrison was a tennis and riflery counselor this past summer. Both Thomas and Harrison were campers at FCC as well. Harrison is taking some medical classes at Western Kentucky University and will be applying to medical school soon.

Tory Gentry, a sophomore at Vanderbilt University, also came by to offer her support. Tory, a six-year camper at Camp Greystone whose brother went to Falling Creek, taught tennis and Arts and Crafts at FCC this summer and also managed the country store.

Gage, a seven-year veteran camper, spoke to the parents at the show several times addressing questions and adding comments about his FCC experiences.

Bart Johnson, an FCC camper in the late-70’s and early-80’s, enjoyed coming to the FCC Movies tonight. He is excited that both of his sons, Ryan and Parker, will be going to camp for their first summer in 2013.
