Sam Culp

  • My name is Samuel Culp
  • I’m known as Sam
  • I’m from Macon, Georgia
  • I am a freshman at Sewanee University this year and I am on a pre-health track.
  • I was a camper for 4 years (’16-’19)
  • This is my first year on staff at Falling Creek
  • I’m teaching backpacking
  • Early bird or night owl? I am definitely a night owl. I enjoy staying out late, but most of all I hate getting up early. If I could, I would wake up at 11 am every day.
  • My favorite holiday? I love Thanksgiving because of the way it brings my family together. I also really enjoy cooking (and also eating) with my mom and grandmother.
  • If I could live anywhere in the world for a year, I think I would want to live in New Zealand. It is a really uniquely beautiful place. I would want to live in a cabin in the middle of nowhere, and just go hiking and camping all the time.
  • Hiking/walking is my go-to way to exercise. I enjoy spending time in the outdoors, and just walking in nature is one of my favorite activities. It is good exercise and helps me relax and think when I am feeling overwhelmed.
  • Fun Fact: Although I am from Georgia, I spent all four years of highschool in Saipan, a US Commonwealth in the Pacific.
