Horseback Riding

The Upper Riding Ring at Falling Creek Camp.

Lessons are conducted in the Upper Riding Ring.

We ride English style saddles here at Falling Creek. If you don't know what that means, you can learn it in the first day of Horseback Riding!

Horseback is a daily activity at camp. You'll need to wear Long Pants and Closed-Toe shoes every time you come up to the barn.

All Smiles at Horseback Riding

Getting ready for a trail ride.

The first day is a safety prep called "Ground School." We'll teach you the in's-and-out's of the barn and being around horses.

The Progression program uses a "band" system. Campers earn different colored bands based on what they accomplish at camp. It includes barnwork and ringwork.

The progression is Yellow, Green, Blue, Red, and Black. If it's your first year, you may only get two or three bands completed. When you return next year you might make it all the way to Black.

*Due to the popularity of Horseback Riding, spaces are limited to the number of horses available each activity period. We will make every effort to get you into an activity period, if you want to learn to ride.
