Yates drove northeast to Lexington, KY, where Amy and Darren Duzyk hosted the Falling Creek Camp Movies and Reunion at their home. Their sons Connor and Cooper will return to FCC this summer. Connor was a big help to Yates as the IT specialist, and made sure that each one of the boys attending received the exclusive 2012 Trunk Sticker that you can only get by coming to a Movie show.
There was a large group that came out to support FCC and to tell the new families what they enjoy about camp. Several of the dads present had been to a Father/Son Weekend at Falling Creek and shared stories of their experience.
Anthony de Movellan brought his son Antonio so he could reconnect with his camp friends. Antonio will be returning to camp this summer. His father, Anthony, is a Falling Creek alumnus as he went in the 70’s and 80’s when Yates and Goody were campers as well.
One of the highlights of the night was when Adam “Screech” Lewis surprised everyone by making an appearance. Screech, a top cabin counselor from the past two summers, brought his lovely bride with him. They met at nearby Berea College and recently graduated and got married. Both are already full-force in the working world. The boys really enjoyed reconnecting with him, proving the comment Yates always make at these movie shows; that camp is great, but the staff is what makes Falling Creek awesome!
Many thanks to the Duzyk’s for their very warm hospitality, opening up their home to the big group from the Lexington area.
