Yates traveled to the south Florida area where Tim and Inge Skelly hosted the Falling Creek Camp Movies and Reunion at their home. Their son Tommy, is returning for his seventh summer at FCC and will be participating in the HUCK Paddling Expedition where they will be able to tackle some of the best rivers in Colorado.
Tim, a Falling Creek Alumnus, started early as a young FCC camper going for many years when Yates and Goody were campers. Tim and Yates also were on the FCC paddling staff together in the late 80’s. Like we say, camp friendships are strong and lifelong.
Yates enjoyed the opportunity to reconnect with current campers and their families from the Palm Beach area and was thrilled to meet the new families who came to learn more about Falling Creek. Paul Raymond, a long-time camper and Counselor-In-Training this past summer, made the short trek from Palm Beach Gardens to offer his support. Paul, a senior at Sun Coast High School, brought Dylan Loebig, a fellow senior friend, who is interested in being a staff member at Falling Creek after his Freshman year in college, when he’s old enough to qualify. Dylan was even more excited about the possibility of being an FCC staff member after this visit. As Yates always asks the parents at the FCC movie shows, Do you know an awesome young man in your church or neighborhood who is in college and would be a super role model on our staff? Please let us know how we can meet him!
We all thank the Skelly’s for their wonderful hospitality and opening up their home to this large group of folks.
