Falling Creek Camp Movies and Reunion at the Ford's home on Sullivan's Island on 10-6-11
Yates drove over to Charleston, SC, on Thursday, October 6, where Jill and Billy Ford hosted the Falling Creek Camp Movies and Reunion at their beautiful home on Sullivan’s Island. Their sons, Hutson and Coker, are returning to the June session at FCC this coming summer. Their daughter Drayton will return to Camp Greystone for her 6th summer. It was a wonderful setting for the event as their home sits right on the water and the temperature was perfect.
The boys had a blast palaying games in the grass overlooking the beach
We were excited to reconnect with several Falling Creek Alumni. Ed Kercher, who went to Falling Creek in the 70’s, was excited to be at the show, and has signed up to take his young son Jack to the Father/Son Weekend this coming May. Ms. Lucy deMovellan, who lives in the area now, used to serve as the FCC host in Lexington, KY. Her sons went FCC with Yates in the 70’s and 80’s. Her grandson Antonio now goes to Falling Creek. Long time camper and staff member Foster Freeman came by to show his support and love for FCC as well. He lives in the area and is working with the Subway Restaurant development team. Foster gets his “camp fix” for the year by serving on the Father/Son weekend staff when he can.
Jill and Billy Ford Served Delicious Food
The boys played games in the big grass lawn while the parents enjoyed each others company, giving the new families a great chance to learn from the current camp folks and alumni just why they love Falling Creek.
What A Perfect Evening To Watch The Falling Creek Camp Movies Outside On The Beach
After Billy cooked the boys hot dogs on the grill, and the parents enjoyed some delicious food that the Ford’s prepared, we all gathered outside in the grass to watch the movie on a screen and then talk about what this amazing camp experience offers.
We thank the Ford’s for their support of Falling Creek!
