Andy Wisdom, a prior FCC camper enjoyed reconnecting with camp and is glad that his son will be able to become a part of the Falling Creek community this coming summer.

Justin Schmidt, whose son Calder has been going to camp for five years now, came by to say, “Hello.” He was on the Falling Creek staff in 1989 with Yates and Marisa.

Drew Nickerson, a long time camper from Chapel Hill, is in his junior year at Tulane University. Drew was a sailing counselor and photographer at Falling Creek last summer and hopes to return this coming summer. Thanks to Drew for taking time out of his busy school schedule to come say hello and support Falling Creek.

Goody in Georgia

Goody made a stop at the Black’s home in Rome, Georgia, last week to show the Falling Creek movies and reunite with camp friends. The group had a great time sharing memories and watching the new camp movie.

Will Graham was at the show. He is a sophomore Environmental Science major at Berry College. Will was a fishing counselor at camp last summer and was instrumental in further developing our fly fishing program.

We appreciate the Black family for hosting the gathering and for spreading the great news about Falling Creek.

The next day, Goody went to an Internship Fair at Georgia College. We look for the very best young men to work as staff members at Falling Creek.

Andrew Markle and Walker Hendry stopped by to say, “hello.” Andrew was a nature counselor last summer, and Walker was a part of our great paddling program.

Sharing Camp Memories in Jackson

Yates enjoyed meeting so many new new families who came to learn more about FCC. They were thrilled to have the chance to win the raffle for a Falling Creek gift and to receive the limited edition 2011 trunk sticker that can only be found if you attend a movie show. Several of the dads and sons signed up to take some of few remaining spots in the May, 2011 Father/Son Weekends.

Yates was also very pleased to reconnect with Warren Speed and meet his family. Warren and his brother Forrest, who lives with his family in Atlanta, grew up going to Falling Creek and they met the Pharr brothers then. Even though it has been years since Warren and Yates have seen each other, the exchange of the camp memories made it feel as though they had just seen each other. Lifelong friendships are one of the great experiences from being a part of the Falling Creek Camp community.

Many thanks to the Speed’s for their warm hospitality in welcoming all of the Jackson area families who came to the FCC movie show.
