Awesome Attendance in Atlanta

Camp Movie Show Atlanta

Atlanta’s movie showing last Sunday was a huge hit. There were over 100 people in attendance, and was the largest showing yet. Many FCC alumni were a part of the group, and they talked about camp and caught up with camp friends.

The Milling family hosted the show in their home and we appreciate their willingness to host the movies and get everything organized.

For information about future movie shows and to see when Yates will be in your city, please visit our Travel Calendar.

Camper's Collosal Catch

Fishing at Traditional Boys Summer Camp

What a catch! August camper Billy recently sent us these photos. They are pictures he took of a fellow camper’s big catch.

Will caught this giant carp in Falling Creek’s upper lake. We practice catch-and-release fishing at camp, so Will put the fish back in the water after posing with his prize.

Congratulations to Will and many thanks to Billy for the photos!

Directors Day in Dupont

Boys Camp Directors Mountain Biking in Dupont

Yates, Nathan, Goody and Ben

Friday after a day in the office, the directors headed to Dupont for a bike ride. The weather was perfect and Dupont was full of folks hiking, biking and swimming.

Before getting on the trail, they were excited to meet Betty and Richard Basalmo at the trailhead. The two were hiking after having a picnic in the forest. Betty is one of our long-time nurses at camp and Richard helps out with a lot of projects at camp each summer.

After catching up with the Basalmos, Ben lead Yates, Goody and Nathan on the traditional Dupont 3 ride, that took a little under two hours. Everyone had an excellent time!

Green Grass is Growing

traditional camp field water system

Sprinklers are spraying!

Falling Creek’s field is looking better than ever! The week after camp ended we had a crew out to install an in-ground sprinkler system.

Following that, eight pallets of sod arrived. Everyone chipped in to patch the areas of grass worn away by all the exciting activities that took place on the field this summer.

Let it grow, let it grow.

With the ability to water the entire field on a regular basis, and the addition of new sod, the field will be in great shape when you arrive next summer for camp!
