Falling Creek Hires Phil Hoffmann

Joining the full time team as an Assistant Director, Falling Creek is glad to welcome back Phil Hoffmann. Phil was a camper at the Creek from 1987 through 1994. He then worked on staff from 1997-2000 and taught lacrosse, sailing, and mountaineering. Phil graduated from Catawba College in Salisbury, NC with a degree in Recreation and is now pursuing a Masters in Adventure Education from the distance education program at Prescott College in Arizona. For the previous five years, Phil has worked as a manager at Inner Peaks Climbing Center in Charlotte, NC. In addition, he is a certified climbing instructor and has worked as a climbing guide throughout the southeast.

In a recent email, Phil stated, “I am very excited about getting started at FCC and am looking forward to being part of the Falling Creek family once again.” Phil will be recruiting staff with Chris during the fall, winter, and spring and will be learning the Program Director role during the summer.

2007 Limited Edition FCC Jersey!

Excited Campers about the 2007 FCC Jersey!

It’s not too early to start making plans for next summer! Continuing our long-standing tradition, we are giving every camper who sends in his 2007 application early a free 2007 Falling Creek Jersey. This is a limited edition Rawlings Jersey, only for those campers who register by October 15. These jerseys will not be sold in the camp store. For many campers these jerseys become a true Falling Creek Camp collector’s item.

BIG NEWS! On October 16, we will draw one name from our enrolled campers to win a special jersey autographed by NFL quarterback and former FCC camper, Eli Manning! Keep up to date by checking back to the FCC website.

There is also a second autographed jersey that will be raffled later this Fall to benefit the FCC Scholarship Fund which is managed by the Community Foundation of Henderson County. This campership fund allows boys who otherwise might not be able to attend Falling Creek, the opportunity to do so. More details to come…

Ben ready to rock climb

Falling Creek is happy to announce the newest member of our full time team, Ben Williams! Ben has been a summer staff member since 1998 and has played a significant role in camp’s Riflery, Archery, Mountain Biking, and Mountaineering programs over the years. Ben will assist with staff recruiting and special projects throughout the fall, winter, and spring. During the summer, Ben will be one of the leaders of Falling Creek’s new CIT program and will also help the Paddling, Mountain Biking and Mountaineering programs.
