Chris canoeing through a slalom gate

Chris and Claudette Stec recently participated in the Mulberry Fork Canoe Races, just north of Birmingham, AL. They raced together in the downriver canoe event, which was a 3.5 mile race on the Mulberry Fork River through a series of class II rapids. Chris then raced in the open canoe slalom event, which is a series of 25 gates that a competitor must maneuver through. The gates are spread out over a 200 yard section of a class II rapid. At the end of the day, Chris placed second in the slalom race, behind world freestyle canoe champion, Eli Helbert.

The Doctors A-Frame at Falling Creek Camp

The outside of the Doctors A-Frame lower level walls are being re-waterproofed as a part of the renovations

The doctors A-frame is our primary building project this winter and spring. Jerry, Patrick and George are rennovating the entire lower level and the bathroom on the main level. They are also adding a new entrance which will provide a new set of stairs to both the upper and main levels. During this process, they are virtually re-wiring the building and doing extensive upgrades to the bathrooms. There will also be a new deck on the tennis court side and a new roof added.
