Your Falling Creek Family Sends A Little Holiday Cheer

The Falling Creek Year Round Staff

Front Row: Claudia Beddingfield, Chris Stec, Simon Wilson, Marisa Pharr
Second Row: Donnie Bain, Susan Frame, Patrick Landry, Chuck McGrady, Frank Tindall, Yates Pharr, & Jerry Metcalf

To all of the campers, staff, families, and friends of Falling Creek, we would like to extend our warmest holiday wishes. During this time of year, we enjoy reflecting on the experiences and friendships made over the past summer. As 2006 commences, we begin to look forward to the numerous opportunities of the coming summer.

In the New Year, Donnie and Chris will begin to recruit staff from across the country, and Yates will continue traveling to meet and visit with campers, their families, and current staff members. Please go to the Camp Calendar to see when we’ll be in an area near you.

If you’ve never visited Falling Creek, we invite you to call the camp office and set up a tour. Whether it’s on a weekend, a day off from school during the week, or over a school holiday, we will be more than happy to give you and your family a personal tour. On April 8-9, we have an Open House Weekend at camp. Several activities will be open and numerous summer staff members will be present along with the Directors to answer any questions about a summer camping experience at Falling Creek.

All Falling Creek Alumni (campers and counselors) need to mark your calendars for Sept 30-Oct 1, 2006. Join fellow alumni at camp for the first annual Falling Creek Alumni Weekend!

The Falling Creek office will close for the holidays on Wednesday afternoon, December 21st and will reopen on Tuesday, January 3rd. We will periodically check mail, phone and email.

Remember to keep checking the Falling Creek website for a Holiday surprise…

Enjoy your Holiday Season,

Yates & Marisa, Donnie & Kim, Chuck & Jean, Chris, Frank, Claudia, Susan, Jerry, Simon, and Patrick

December Update

Hello Falling Creek Family,

Even though it’s starting to get a little chilly at camp and we’ve had our first snowflakes, we are already getting excited about next summer! Whether it’s a new location to go on a backpacking trip, a new section of river to kayak, or a different route to climb, we’re striving to continue to improve our programming so you can have the summer adventure of a lifetime!

Canoe Instruction

Since Thanksgiving, Yates has traveled to Tuscaloosa, AL, Shelby, NC, and Piedmont, SC to visit with families and show the camp movies. He’s enjoyed getting to know more Falling Creek campers and even joined the Snow family at an Alabama basketball game! Thank you to all of our Representatives who graciously open your homes to host the camp movies.

A highlight of every day is going to the Tuxedo post office and opening the mail to see who has signed up for next summer. We have a terrific group of campers already enrolled! If you have not sent in your application, now’s the time to ensure a great summer at Falling Creek and avoid being placed on the waiting list. If you need an application form, we are happy to mail one to you, or you can download one from our Applications & Forms page.

Falling Creek’s annual Christmas Alumni Newsletter will be mailed soon. If you haven’t received it by the holidays, please contact the camp office.

Continue to visit www.fallingcreek.com for updates throughout the holiday season. You might just get a Christmas surprise…
